Specifications on the bolts on my valve covers?

i was considering cleaning up my valve covers and putting new gaskets on them. I know the process of changing the gaskets and cleaning the valves but im not sure how to find out what the bolts should be torqued too, nor do i know how or what to use to make sure they are torqued to the right poundage?Specifications on the bolts on my valve covers?
Just tighten down the bolts as much as possible without distorting or bending the metal flange of the valve cover. Parts stores or speed shops sell longer strips of metal brackets---3-4 inch-- than the original little brackets ---1-1/12 inch---under the bolt head to even the load out further...some older hi performance cars like Corvettes and Camaro's used them.

Contact your dealer if you don't have a Haynes Manual handy and ask the service department for the torque specs on the bolts to the cover for your specific car model since you didn't say what it was. It is the easiest and fastest method to find your answer!
