How good is the Lucas Oil?

I have decided t put .75 quarts per every 4 in my 1991 Ford Escort wagon. It also seems there may be a leaking valve cover gasket, as there is a lot of gunky oil on the head cover and around a spot close to the belts. If it is a valve cover gasket, i have heard it is very simple to replace... also makes ticking noise, they said it sounds like a gasket leak. Had no starter fluid to test. Doesnt 'spew' oil, but would explain it....

Anyeays, i wanted to know if Lucas has worked wonders for anyone. I even added like .25 a quart to my transmission (it said it bonds with ATF) and no itsnot the Stop Leak, lol.

Its so thick, its like STP. I know STP is useless. Lucas has no teflon or chlorine and it says 100% pertoleum. What does that mean.....

Also, the AMSOil and Royal Purple and Castol syntec are a) OVERKILL and b) ENGINE DESTROYERS for my car. I plan on using the Valvoline MaxLife NON-SYNTHETIC BLEND (3 quarts) and Lucas non-syntheric (.75 quart) and Wix filter every oil change.

Just how -good- is it?

I also wonder if i should just leave my trans alone, and top off wit Lucas... level is good thoug...

122,000 1991 Ford Escort 1.9L Auto, maybe leaky valve cover (mechanically inclined said not a big deal, just clean it and watch it and no it wont kill engine) and wanting to make it run forever, really....How good is the Lucas Oil?
